4. The Lamb of God's Victory Over the Antichrist - Proclaimed in Advance! (Revelation 17:9b-14)

The Last Incarnation of the Antichrist (v 11): The angel emphasized that the seventh king was not the last. Much more after his death, he would arise as the eighth prince and in his renewed existence embody the beast out of the sea (Revelation 17:11). This eighth head will develop into the full incarnation of the antichrist. The malice and power of the evil one will be concentrated in him and arise to begin the worldwide attempt to eliminate the followers of Christ.

But John heard again in this vision that a limit had been set to the coming antichrist, with his bestial behavior. He can brutally rage for a while, but after a short time he must return to his damnation. Divine judgment stands firmly over him in advance. The son of the evil one must appear, but the faithfulness of God has set an end to the misery that will arise. The clash between the Lamb of God and his adversary is inevitable for the sake of redemption. But the victory of Christ on the cross and the faithfulness of his witnesses unto death will bring about the victory of the Lamb of God.

Ten Kings Arm Themselves for Final Battle With the Lamb (v 12-13): The angel indirectly confirmed to John in his vision that Daniel's vision of the high statue, with two feet and ten toes, would be fulfilled in the time of the Antichrist (Revelation 17:12; Daniel 2:31-45). At the end of the Antichrist's effective working ten princes will enter into an alliance with him, and economically, militarily, culturally and financially fuse with him. They will agree to an open world trade without custom barriers and judicially concoct a new world order in detail. The area of their rule will not remain limited to the USA or a united Europe, but have all parts of earth subordinated to the favor, far-sightedness and originality of the satanic son. This is the one who will first appear as an angel of light, a freedom-fighter, and as a philanthropic humanist. He will be ready, however, to march over corpses to implement his “tolerant” ideas. Through the feministic charm of his Babylonian harlot he will delude the nations and prove his invincibility through the amazing miracles of his false prophet. The modern telecommunications system will help him to quickly get through to the world's population. Satellites in outer space will day and night transmit his paroles and laws, his enticements and threats to the people of earth. In the interest of warding off terrorism, fundamentalism and lack of party loyalty he will draw all strategically thinking rulers and parliaments over to his side. Whoever doesn't go along with him is his enemy, and must be eliminated.

The ten nation confederacy of the end time will bundle together various powers worldwide. Without exception the ten princes will be concentrated on and aligned with the beast's rule. This vision will be fulfilled toward the end of the 42 months (Revelation 13:1-5). The hatred toward the Lamb of God will unite them (Revelation 16:13-14; 17:17). They will relinquish their national sovereignty in order to bring about a final solution to the Messiah question.

The fact that in those days numerous Christians and some Jews will dare to not worship the son of hell will bring the beast out of the sea of nations into a red-hot rage. From all people he expects absolute trust, devotion, surrender and unconditional obedience, just as Mohammed demanded from his Muslims and subjugated peoples. The love of Christ's followers to their Lord, the Lamb of God, and their obedience toward His commandments separates them from the princes and from the god of this world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2 Corinthians 4:4). They will swim against the tide of the new world order. Therefore, kings, presidents and lords will agree with the son of perdition that these trouble-makers must immediately be persecuted, tortured, condemned and killed. Furthermore, their reputation is to be morally destroyed through suspicions, lies, and forcing them into false confessions (Matthew 5:11-12; 10:17-22; 1 Peter 4:12-16).

The ten princes of the end time will possibly appear as two groups, each of five kings, like the ordering of the ten toes on the two feet of the statue that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream (Daniel 2:41-42).

The vassals of the antichrist will not act independently, but receive their authorization from the son of hell, in whom they are integrated and incorporated into. They are possessed with his spirit and carry out his will. Their actual substance and value is little, just like the feet in the statue of Nebuchadnezzar's dream. They consisted of clay and iron, and were crushed in one blow by a heavenly meteor (Daniel 2:41-45).

PRAYER: Father in heaven, Your commandments and Your Holy Spirit are better and holier than the new world order, which will soon proclaim the antichrist and his ten kings. Help us to hold fast to the heavenly order and its straight rights, and to prefer death rather than obeying the antichrist and his poor bondservants. Amen.

QUESTION:

  1. Who are the ten kings in the last days, and what unites them?
