Let us proclaim the victory of the Lamb!

REVELATION 6:1-2
1 I saw that the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, “Come and see!” 2 And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

At the open door of heaven John stood numbly because of the rejoicing from the elders, the host of angels and all creatures who worshiped the Lamb. The atmosphere was full of praise of God and his Son.

The seer gazed excitedly at the just enthroned ruler in heaven so as to see what he would do first. The Lamb did not sit down on the throne for a little rest, but immediately got down to his first official act: He broke open the first seal of the scroll carefully.

Jesus is acting with sovereignty and mercy as Lord of the cosmos so as to implement the will of God. Without hesitation he faced the calamities of the world. He put up the fight against the evil. The Lamb had taken the office of the ruler of the world.

When he had broken open the first seal the scroll was still sealed sixfold. The implementation instruction remained secret until the last seal had been broken open. Nevertheless, the instructions on the outside of the scroll could be read.

When the Lamb on the throne had broken open the first seal, then the first throne guardian shouted, "Come out!" The Lamb itself did not speak, but it sat on the throne and inspired his servant to reveal his will. Jesus kept the world affairs firmly under control. His servant announced the order to a hidden person, "Come out!" The addressed person who had waited in a hidden place could not hide any longer. He must start his way immediately.

PRAYER: Holy Judge, who sits on the glorious throne, we worship You joyfully because You rule the universe in harmony with Your reconciliation by the hand of Your beloved Son, who sent His apostles to the whole world to call those to repentance and faith who fell into corruption, that they would listen and be saved. But those who refuse you become hardened and this way they condemn themselves.

QUESTION:

  1. What does the opening of the seals of the scroll by the hand of the Lamb of God signify?
