5. God Guarantees That the New World Will Come Into Existence (Revelation 21:5)

Write! John the patriarch exiled to the isle of Patmos in the Aegean heard these great and serious words from the mouth of God. Their implications he was not able to comprehend. Perhaps he might have stared at the sublime throne of the Almighty and tried to order his thoughts. Then the twelfth time he heard the order, “Write!” (Revelation 1:11.19; 2:1.8.12.18; 3:1.7.14; 14:13; 19:9; 21:5). It was not important that John did comprehend all what he heard and saw, but it was important that he wrote down accurately and completely what he was shown and told. An eyewitness will not be questioned about his personal opinion and experience, but he is to describe what has happened in detail and as precisely as possible.

The consternated seer was assured that the words of God about the new creation of the universe are not speculations or mere ideas, no ideals or vain hopes, but a detailed program which will be implemented and carried out. All words of God are true, unadulterated and unchangeable. Their implementation is sure, inevitable and true! The revelation defends itself and testifies its timeless truth to believers and unbelievers.

The most orders in the Book of Revelation which John received to write down are addressed to the leaders and responsible persons of the churches who are not to keep the revealed Word of God to themselves but are to teach it their churches. Two of the aforementioned orders include beatitudes for persecuted and martyrs so that they may not abandon all hope in their desperate situation. (Revelation 14:13; 19:9).

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Your revealed words are true and certain. They are filled with power and are exact fulfillment of Your plan of salvation. We give thanks for all Your revelations revealed by the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testaments, and we ask for understanding of, trust in, and faith obedience to them, particularly for the truth of Your Son Jesus, in whom Your eternal word was incarnate. Amen.

QUESTION:

  1. What is the mystery in each divine revelation?
