(ii) A Woman Healed (Mark 5:25-34)MARK 5:25-34 Are you aware of painful situations, where each one around us bears more hidden suffering in himself than we recognize? All men are like porters who carry on their backs heavy spiritual burdens. This is because of the sins, worries, diseases, and faults under which men sink. At the time of Jesus, there was a poor, tired woman who was despised by the people because of her disease, which was then considered impure. She had suffered terribly for twelve years even though she had been treated by many doctors. She had spent all her money, but instead of getting better, she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, the hope of the world, and the Savior of those who suffer, she felt that it was not proper to speak openly to him about her suffering, but she believed in his power, and longed to touch him, believing that by touching the hem of his garment he would cure her of her disease. In fact, touching Jesus with faith is like touching an electric charge, for out of him flows a divine current to the believer. Faith is the true communication with the Savior, and our faith is not an imaginary thought, but a changing power, which generates new thoughts. Faith saved this woman, for it communicated and connected her spiritually with the Savior. Then Christ felt a healing power had gone out of him to an apparently unknown person, but one who believed in him. He knew that person in spirit and searched to see the person whose hand had touched him and who had become healed. He helped her to confess her long suffering and her great cure, for whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and every sin is meant to be brought out into the open, in the light of the Lord. When the woman had confessed, Jesus gave her complete salvation with his own power, and brought everlasting peace to her, for Christ does not only want to help us in temptations, diseases, and testing, but he intends to save all men and reconcile them to God that they may be filled with his peace. Have you touched Christ by faith, begging him earnestly for a blessing, cure, salvation, purification, and peace for you, for your friends, and for members of your family? Your faith has saved you. PRAYER: We worship you O Lord Jesus, for you are the Almighty who can do what man cannot do. You reconciled us to God, that his peace might dwell in our hearts and minds. Cleanse us from our defects, and sanctify us by the power of your Spirit, for we are touching you with certain faith, and we will not leave until you have blessed us together, with our friends who are wailing under many burdens. Amen. QUESTION:
