BOOK 6 - BABYLON THE HARLOT AND THE WORSHIP OF GOD(REVELATION 17:1 - 19:10)
PART 6.2 - THE GREAT HALLELUJAH IN HEAVEN (REVELATION 19:1-10)
3. Preparations for the Marriage of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7-10)Worship God! (v 10): The aged patriarch was so impressed by the majestic appearance of the angel and from what he heard that he fell at his feet to worship him (Revelation 19:10a). John was in the Spirit, and not in his full self-control. The angel, however, proved his authority and sending, in that he immediately forbade John to worship him. The Bible recognizes no angel's cult. The messenger of Jesus disclosed his secret and confessed: I am a slave of my Lord and His servant, like you, and all of your born-again brothers and sisters in the Holy Spirit. You recognize those born of the Spirit by the fact that they all bear the testimony of Christ in their hearts. The Spirit of the Son speaks in them: “Abba, Father”! God's Spirit testifies to their spirit that they are children of God (Romans 8:15-16); Ephesians 1:13-20). Christians are Spirit-led servants of Christ. They have received spiritual insight and understanding into the reality of God, and the total lost state off all men. Since they know God, they bear the correct measure for life and death in them (Matthew 5:48). Jesus assured His disciples: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:13-15) Whoever lets these prophetic words of Jesus work in his heart will be glad and certain of the fact that the Spirit of the Father and of the Son speaks to Christians, born of the Spirit, leading them to glorify the Lamb. By reading the gospel, Christians receive inspiration and spiritual leading. They are able to honor the Father in heaven and His beloved Son in love, word, deed and patience, in the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 16:17; John 16:13; Acts 16:6-10; Romans 8:1,9,14,26-27). The Angel of the Lord expressly summoned John to Worship God!” (Revelation 19:10b) Devote yourself to Him alone. Amidst all the ecstasy of the Spirit who leads you, solemnly recognize, that you may not allow yourself to be distracted by glorious angels. In the Lamb of God alone do you recognize the love of the Father for all mankind (John 3:16). Does His self-sacrifice leave you cold? By reading the gospel have you already grown accustomed to the incomprehensibly great love of God? Or are you already spoiled? Worship God! Satan, too, at one time, received this command from Jesus (Matthew 4:10-11). But instead of worshipping God and His Son, this command put him to flight. In the worship of God there remains no room for other powers besides Him. Revelation 19:1-10 should lead us, together with the great hallelujah choirs in heaven, to the worship of God and His Lamb. The Harlot of Babylon, who refused to worship the triune God, and instead fought against Him, has been destroyed. But the bride of the Lamb and all of the marriage guests will, in fellowship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be blessed and holy. PRAYER: Our Father in heaven, we thank You from the bottom of our hearts and we worship You for Your great love, Your powerful word, Your beloved Son and Your life-giving Spirit. You chose us in Christ to be Your children in Truth and in Spirit, and Jesus saved us by Your grace that we might become praise for Your mercy. Grant our relatives and friends repentance and salvation that they may not perish, but partake of the Hallelujah choirs, rejoicing with us. Amen. QUESTION:
